​Hmaari ‘pehchaan’ ‘kaddu’ nahi hai.

Riwaayat hai; ek bewqoof shakhs kisi brray shehar mein aaya tau gliyo’n aur choraaho’n mein logo’n ki bheerr dekh kar wo bokhla gya. Usay andesha hua, agar wo so gya aur phir baidaar hua tau in beshumar logo’n ke darmyaan apni pehchaan nahi kar paaye ga. Chuna’n-cheh us ne apni shinaakht ke liye apnay paao’n ke sath ek kaddu baandh liya.
​Ek shraarti shakhs ne jab yeh maajra dekha tau us ke sonay ka intezar karnay lagaa. Jab wo bewaqoof so gya, tay us shraarti shakhs ne chupke se wo kaddu us ke paao’n se khol kar apnay paao’n se baandh liya aur khud bhi sraaye ke sehan mein so gya. Jab bewaqoof ki aankh khuli tau us ne sab se pehle wahi kaddu kisi doosray ke paao’n se bandha dekha. Pehlau tau us ne khyaal kiya, shaayad yeh doosra shakhs hi, wo ‘khud’ hai. Phir wo doosray shakhs par toot prra aur chillaaya, “Agar ‘tum’ hi ‘mein’ hoon, tau phir khuda ke liye yeh btaao, mein kaun hoon aur kahaan hoon?” (Mulla Nasruddin ke lataaif)

​​Jaami kehtay hain, baidaari ki kai aqsaam hain magar durust baidaari sirf ek hai. Insaan neend mein hai magar usay jaagna bhi isi andaz mein chaahiye jo haq ke muwafiq ho.

Mahaz aankh kholna baidaari nahi balkay yeh idraak ke us darjay par puhanchana hai jahaan aap ki pehchaan khaarji ashyaa ki muhtaaj na rahay. Agar insaan ki pehchaan kisi khaarji totheeq (jaise kaddu baandhnay) ki muhtaaj hai tau wo sahi tor par baidaar nahi. Baidaari us ‘kaddu’ ko tornay ka amal hai jisay hum ne apni ‘anaa’ ke sath baandha hota hai.

​Hmaari asal pehchaan is duniya mein hmaaray badaltay huay kirdaar nahi hain. Agarcheh hmaaray in kirdaaron ki bhi apni ahmiyat hai lekin agar yahi badaltay huay kirdaar ‘mein’ ban jaayen, tau hmaari haqiqi pehchaan in kirdaaro’n ki gard mein kahi’n jamm jaati hai. Hum dar’asal ‘wo’ hain jo in tmaam kirdaaro’n ke pas-manzar mein maujood hain. Baidaari apnay paao’n ke sath bandha kaddu tlaash karnay ki bjaaye khud-agahi hai. Agar insaan aankh khol le magar ‘conditioning’ na torray tau wo jaag kar bhi soya rehta hai.

​’Zaat mahaz wahmo’n ka ek majmua hai; in tehon ko ek ek kar ke htaatay jao tau ‘kuch nahi’ haasil ho ga, magar yahi ‘kuch na hona’ hi asal mein ‘sab kuch’ hai.’ (Buddha)
​Bewaqoof shakhs ki ‘self’ auhaam se jurri hui hai. Us ne apni pehchaan ek ‘kaddu’ se jorr li thi. Hmaaray dunyaavi rutbay bhi ‘kaddu‘ ki tarah hain, jinhein hum apni pehchaan samajh beth-tay hain, jo ‘waham‘ ke siwa kuch bhi nahi. Hmaaray ‘kaddu‘ chhin jaanay se bhi hmaari asal shinaakht khatray mein parr jaati hai. Phir hum is ‘khlaa‘ se darr jaatay hain jo ‘kaddu‘ ke hatr jaanay se paida hota hai. Insaan akelay bethnay se, khaamoshi se aur baghair kisi shinaakht ke rehnay se darta hai kyun ke tab usay apnay andar ‘kuch na hone’ ka ehsaas paida hota hai. Agar hum apnay ‘kuch na hone’ ka yeh ‘sadma‘ qabool kar lein, tau hum masnooi shinaakht ke sraab se nikal kar is kainaat ki wus’at se jurr jaatay hain.

​Ghazaali kehtay hain, ‘Rooh ek aainay ki maanind hai; agar is par dunyaavi shinaakhto’n ki gard jamm jaaye tau yeh faraib-e-nazar ke siwa kuch munakkis nahi karti.’
