​Woh Darvesh Jo Baadshah Bnaa

​Kehtay hain; aik darvesh tha, jis nay haqiqat ki jhalak dekh li thi. Magar us ka khyaal tha; jab tak woh dunyawi aetibar say sahib-e-ikhtiyaar nahi ban jaata, log us ki baat sun-nay kay liye aamaada nahi hon gay. Chuna’n-cheh us nay apni tmaam tar tawajjo aur quwwat zahiri iqtedaar kay husool par markooz kar di.

​Waqt guzarnay kay saath, woh baadshah ban hi gya.
​Kuch arsa hukm-raani kay baad usay yeh ehsas honay laga; log us kay tariqa-e-taleem ko qabool karnay kay liye tayyar nahi. Woh us ki baat suntay zaroor thay lekin amal sirf inaam ki umeed ya szaa kay khauf ki bina par kartay thay.

Us darvesh baadshah kay paas taleem denay kay liye koi moaasir zariya na tha.
Woh zariya usay us waqt tak na mila, jab tak woh apni umar kay aakhri hissay mein na pahunch gya.



​Woh Ajnabi Jo Sabz Posh Tha

​Aik din, shikaar ki tlaash mein nikla woh boorha baadshah bil-aakhir thak kar aaram ki gharz say baitha hua tha keh aik sabz posh ajnabi namoodar hua. Us nay baadshah ko salaam kiya aur aik qissa sunaaya.

Yeh kahanai thi; kitab ki kahaani

Aur phir us nay dastaan ka aaghaaz yun kiya;




​Tawaqqo Kay Bar-aks

​Aik danishwar; jo apnay zmaanay ka ajooba tha, apnay shagirdon ko hikmat kay b’zaahir na khatam honay waalay khzaanay say taleem diya karta tha.
Woh apnay tmaam ilm ka manba is zakheem kitab ko qraar deta tha, jo us kay hujray mein aik buland mqaam par rakhi hui thi.
Lekin woh kisi ko bhi kitab kholnay ki ijaazat nahi deta tha.

​Jab woh wfaat pa gya, tau us kay pero-kaar, jo khud ko is kitab ka waris khyaal kartay thay, bay-taab ho kar kitab kholnay dorray, ta-keh us kay andar poshida raazo’n kay malik ban sakain.

Magar kitab kholtay hi un ki hairat, pareshani aur mayusi ki intiha na rahi, jab yeh inkishaf hua; us zakheem kitab mein sirf aik hi safhay par tahreer thi;

Aur jab unhon nay is aik jumlay ka matlab samajhnay ki koshish ki tau un ki hairaani jhanjhlaahut mein badalnay lagi.

​Is safhay par likha tha;

​’’Jab tum zarf (yani bartan) aur mazroof (yani bartan mein maujood shay) kay darmiyan farq jaan lo gay, tab tumhain ilm hasil ho jaye ga.‘‘




​Ulamaa Ki Raaye

Danishwar kay jansheen woh kitab us waqt kay naam-war ulamaa kay paas lay gaye aur kaha;
’’Hmasray paas yeh kitab is azeem danishwar ki hay jo apnay ehd ka ygaana tha magar ab duniya mein nahi raha aur apnay peechay yeh wahid sarmaaya chhor gya, jis ki tafheem say hum qasir hain.‘‘

​Ulamaa pehlay tau itni zakheem kitab aur sahib-e-kitab ka naam dekh kar bohat khush huay, jis ki aqeedat ka damm aik zmaana bharta tha.
Phir unhon nay daawa kiya;
’’Bay-shak hum aap ko is ki asal tafseer batayain gay.‘‘

​Magar jab unhon nay dekha; kitab taqreeban khaali hay aur jo chand alfaaz darj hain un ka koi matlab un ki samajh mein nahi aa raha, tau pehlay woh tanziya muskuraye aur phir gussay mein un shagirdon par cheekhnay lagay aur unhain wahaa’n say bhgaa diya.
Unhain yaqeen tha, woh kisi mazaaq ka nishana banay hain.

​Woh aisa daur tha jab ulamaa ki soch mehdood aur lafzi maani tak muqayyad thi. Woh aisi kitab ka tasawwur nahi kar saktay thay jo kuch ’kar‘ sakti ho, woh to sirf aisi kitab say aashna thay, jo sirf kuch ’kehti‘ ho.



​Darvesh Ki Tashreeh

​Shikasta dil shaagird aik sraaye mein ja thehray, jahaa’n un ki mulaqaat aik darvesh say hui. Unhon nay usay apni pareshani btaayi.
Darvesh nay poocha;
’’Aap ko un ulamaa say kya sabaq mila?‘‘

Musafiron nay kaha;
’’Kuch bhi nahi. Woh hmain kuch na btaa sakay.‘‘

Darvesh nay muskuratay huay kaha;
’’Is kay bar-aks, unhon nay aap ko sab kuch btaا diya. Unhon nay yeh sabit kar diya; is kitab ko is tarah nahi samjha ja sakta jaisa aap ya woh gumaan kar rahay thay. Aap shaayad samajh rahay hon keh un mein gehraai ki kami thi, magar haqiqat yeh hay keh aap mein hi samajh boojh ki kami thi. Yeh kitab khud is waqaye kay zariay aap ko kuch sikha rahi thi, jab keh aap khaab-e-gaflat mein thay.‘‘

​Magar shaagirdon kay liye yeh nukta bohat bareek tha. Aur is kitab ka raaz sirf usi aik shakhs nay mehfooz rakha jo is sraaye ka aik aam sa musafir tha. Jis nay yeh sari guftagu sun li thi, jo main nay abhi aap ko sunaayi hay, ay baadshah aur darvesh!‘‘

​Yeh keh kar woh sabz posh ajnabi utha aur chal diya.



​Kitab Ki Hifaazat Aur Is Ki Chori

​Baadshah us ajnabi ki dastaan say is qadar mutassir hua keh us nay hukm diya; yeh qissa sunahri huroof mein likh kar aik brri kitab ki soorat mein mehfooz kiya jaaye. Usay shahi khzaanay kay aik taaq mein rakh diya gya aur din raat musallah muhafiz is ki hifazat karnay lagay.

​Kuch arsay baad boorha baadshah intiqal kar gya aur aik wahshi faateh nay us ki sultanat ko tehs-nahas kar diya. Khzaana loot-tay waqt us ki nazar aik aham mqaam par rakhi kitab par prri tau us nay socha,
’’Yaqeenan yahi kitab is mulk ki khush-haali aur hikmat ka sarchashma ho gi.‘‘

Us nay buland awaaz mein kaha,
’’Yeh kitab utaaro aur hmaari zbaan mein tarjuma kar kay sunaao.‘‘
Magar woh faateh, apni tmaam tar jismaani taaqat kay bawajood, jahil tha. Woh kitab kay alfaaz say koi matlab akhaz na kar skaa.



​Mali Nay Kitab Bacha Li

Us wahshi faateh nay kitab talf karwa di, magar us kay mutarjim nay (jis ka naam Mali tha) us kay mundarjaat yaad rakhay. Isi ki koshishon say is kitab ki taleem aagay muntaqil hui.
Maali nay aik dukan khol li.
Us nay ’Kitab-ul-Kitab‘ (The Book of the Book) kay nuskhay dikhaanay aur farokht kay liye rakhay, magar woh tab tak kisi ko kitab kay andar jhaanknay ki ijaazat na deta, jab tak woh do ashrafiyan adaa na kar deta.

Kuch logon nay kitab say sabaq seekha aur phir mazeed taleem kay liye Maali kay paas bhi waapas aaye. Aur kuch aisay bhi thay jo apnay paisay waapas maangnay lagay, magar Maali hamesha yahi jwaab deta;
’’Main is waqt tak aap kay paisay waapas nahi kar sakta, jab tak aap kitab samet woh ilm mujhay waapas na kar d
au jo aap nay is tarjumay say hasil kiya.‘‘
Baaz log, jo zaahir ko baatin par tarjeeh detay thay, Maali ko dhokay-baaz kehnay lagay.

Magar Maali hans kar yeh jwaab deta;
’’Aap tau shuru say hi dhokay-baazon ki tlaash mein thay, isi liye aap ko har shakhs mein dhokay-baaz hi nazar aaye ga.‘‘



​Yasvi Nay Usay Baarah Ashrafiyon Mein Khareeda

​​Jab Ahmad Yasvi talib-e-ilm thay, unhon nay Maali say us kitab ka aik nuskha dau ashrafiyon mein khareeda. Aglay roz woh waapas aaye aur Maali ko duss ashrafiya’n mazeed detay huay kaha;
’’Main nay is kitab say jo kuch seekha hay, us ki qemat is say kahin zyaada hay. Chu’n-keh meray paas ab mazeed raqam nahi, is liye main apni jmaa poonji aap ki nazar karta hoon, is aiteraf kay saath keh meray nazdeek is sabaq ki qadro qemat meri kul kainat kay braabar hay.‘‘


Ahmad Yasvi nay is kitab ki tareekh aur is kay mundarjaat ko dau sau say zaaid safhaat par mushtamil aik jild mein murattab kiya, jis kay sar-warq par likha tha;
​’’Agar kitabon ki zakhaamat hi un kay mawaad ki qadar ka tayyun karti hay, to yaqeenan is kitab ko is say bhi zakheem hona chahiye tha.‘‘
​Aur yun wust-e-Asia kay masha-ikh-e-azaam mein say, Ahmad Yasvi kay baad say, yeh dastan saat so baras say zaid arsay say nasl dar nasl muntaqil hoti chali aa rahi hay.

​’’Agar kitaabon ki zakhaamat hi un kay mawaad ki qadar ka tayyun karti hay, tau yaqeenan is kitab ko is say bhi zakheem hona chahiye tha.‘‘

​Aur yu’n wast-i-Asia kay mashaa-ikh-e-azaam mein say, Ahmad Yasvi kay baad say, yeh dastaan saat sau baras say zaaid arsay say nasl dar nasl muntaqil hoti chali aa rahi hay.




​Hai pray sarhad-e-idraak say apna masjood

​Maaya-naaz musannif aur duur-andesh mufakkir Idries Shah nay is kitab ko ‘The Book of the Book’ kay naam say shaaya karwaaya. Naqideen nay kitab par sakht rad-e-amal zahir kiya. Arhaai sau say zaid safhaat ki is kitab mien pandrah say bees safhaat par oopar waali dastaan darj thi, baaqi pooray safhaat khaali thay.

​Kuch logo’n nay kitab waapas karnay ki koshish ki, jis tarah Mali say logo’n nay apni do ashrafiyan waapas maangi thee’n. Aisay logo’n ko Idries Shah nay nihaayat itminaan say yeh jwaab diya;

​”Jin logo’n ko gussa aa raha hai, woh dar-asal is ‘Mali’ kay gaahako’n ki tarah hain, jinho’n nay zarf (bartan) to khareed liya magar woh mazroof (bartan mien maujood shay) ko pehchaan-nay ki slaahiyat say aari thay.”

​Jab tak hum ashiyaa ki zaahiri shakal say buland ho kar un ki asal haqeeqat ko nahi pehchaantay, hum saraab main rahain gay. Yeh kitab murawwaja dhaancho’n ko torr kar hmai’n hairat main daalti hai aur hum naye zaawiye say dekhna shuru kar detay hain. Zarf ki ahamiyat say inkaar nahi; mazroof apnay zuhoor kay liyay ‘zarf‘ ka muhtaaj hota hai, magar ‘zarf‘ ki apni qadr-o-qeemat sirf ‘mazroof‘ kay damm say hai.



​Hum nay rakh li hai bcha kar aik gehri khaamshi

​Is kitab kay ‘khaali safhaat’ aisi ‘khamoshi‘ hain, jo shola bunn kar hmain hmaaray ‘khaali punn’ kay ‘andhairay’ ka ehsaas dilaatay hain, tau hum apnay andar ka andhaira dekh kar bharrak jaatay hain.

​”Woh laug jo is kitab ko khaali paatay hain, dar-asal yeh un kay apnay hi androoni khlاa ka aaina hai.” (Robert Graves)

​Behar-haal isi tareeki say hum-knaar ho kar hi hum haqeeqi roshni ki jhalak paa saktay hain. Yeh kitab hmain apnay zehen kay khlaa ko apnay khyalaat say bharnay ki targheeb deti hai aur berooni maloomat kay bay-hangam shor ki bjaaye hmaari androoni bseerat ko jila bakhshti hai. Is kitab main ‘khaali safhaat’ ki ‘khamoshi’ hmain is raaz say aash-kaar karti hai.

​”Khaamoshi Khuda ki zbaan hai, baaqi sab naaqis tarjuma hai.” (Maulana Rumi)

​Haqeeqat tau yeh hai; agar hum apnay baatin kay ‘khaali punn’ ka saamna karnay ka hausla paida kar lain tau yahi ‘khlaa’ hmaari numu ka sab say kaar-aamad wasila bunn sakta hai.

​”Hum matti say bartan bnاatay hain, magar is kay andar ka khaali punn hi isay qabil-e-istimal bnaata hai.” (Lao Tzu)

​Kitab main ‘khaali safhaat’ mahz aik ‘kmee‘ nahi balkay aik pur-asar ‘maujoodgi’ hai.
Woh qissa jo lafzon main nahi aaya, wahi tau ‘asal‘ qissa hai.

​Meri khaamoshiyo’n main larzaa’n hai
Meray naalo’n ki gum-shuda aawaaz

​Poocha gya;
“Baans mauseeqi kyun paida karta hai?”

​Yaani baans agar andar say khaali na hota tau woh kabhi baansuri na bunn sakta. Is ki azmat is ki mazbooti hi nahi balkay is kay andar maujood khlaa bhi hai. Magar baansuri ko bhi naghma-sraai kay liye soz bhree phoonk aur mutaharrik ungliyo’n ki zaroorat hoti hai.

​Aaya kahaan say naala-e-nay main surood-e-mai
Asl is ki nay-nwaaz ka dil hai ya choob-e-nay?

​’Nay’ main ‘surood-e-mai’ paida karnay kay liye ‘nay-nwaaz’ kay dil ka soz bhi darkaar hai. Warna ‘choob-e-nay’ ka ‘khlaa’ mahz ‘khlaa’ kay siwa kuch nahi.

​Isi liye;

​”Jab tum zarf (yaani bartan) aur mazroof (yaani bartan main maujood shay) kay darmiyan farq jaan lo gay, tab tumhain ilm hasil ho jaaye ga.”

​Jis roz dil ki ramz mughanni samajh gaya
Samjho tamam marhala-haye-hunar hai tay
